RISE IN INCOME: Karan Johar 473%, Kapil Sharma 206%, Alia Bhatt 46%

Karan Johar, Kapil Sharma and Alia Bhatt are the stars who have had the maximum jump in their pay checks this year. The IT department has confirmed in their latest statement.

According to the release, Kapil's net worth has increased in the past fiscal year. His pay check has multiplied by 206%. Kapil has already paid an advance tax of Rs 23.9 crore as opposed to the Rs 7 crore which he paid last year.

"The number indicates that Kapil Sharma's personal income has jumped by almost 206 per cent in one year," an IT official said while speaking to a leading daily. For the fourth quarter this fiscal, Kapil has paid an advance tax of Rs 7.5 crore, whereas for the same quarter in year 2015-16, the advance tax paid was Rs 3 crore.

This proves that Kapil is definitely the highest earning TV celeb.

The IT department's list also mentions Bollywood biggies like Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan, Ranbir Kapoor, Aamir Khan, Karan Johar, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor Khan among the highest advance tax payers. Notable jumps in the pay checks are that of KJo who has upped his income by almost 473%, and of Alia who has raised her pay check by 46%.

Now, this list is of the people who paid advance tax and therefore doesn't include a lot of popular names like Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Ajay Devgn. We shall have to wait for the list on the highest earning individuals put out by the IT department once the fiscal year ends and people file their IT returns.
